Sunnybubs – Terms & Conditions of Hire

Thank you for choosing Sunnybubs for your little one’s celebration. These Terms & Conditions set out the agreement between the hirer and Sunnybubs for hire of soft play and jumping castle equipment. Please read carefully — they include important safety rules, payment and cancellation terms, and liability details.

1. Definitions

  • Agreement — these Terms & Conditions.

  • Owner — Sunnybubs (the business hiring the equipment).

  • Hirer — the person or organisation hiring the equipment.

  • Equipment — the items listed in your booking confirmation (soft play, EVA mats, jumping castle, ball pits, marquees, accessories).

  • Site — the location where the Equipment will be installed (as specified in your booking).

  • Term of Hire — dates and times for delivery, hire and collection as in your booking confirmation.

  • Damage — includes (but is not limited to) stains from food/paint, water or rain damage, punctures (e.g. from high heels), pet damage, malicious damage, or damage from misuse or neglect.

2. Booking, Deposit & Payment

  • A $100 deposit is required to secure your booking date.

  • The remaining balance is due 2 days before your hire date. Failure to pay on time may result in cancellation.

  • Payment methods: bank transfer, credit card, invoice, cash or via website.

  • For last-minute bookings made less than 7 days before the event, full payment may be required on booking.

3. Bond

  • A refundable bond of $200 may be requested for some hires (e.g. larger setups). The bond is payable 3 business days prior to hire and is refunded within 3 business days after collection if the Equipment is returned clean, dry and undamaged.

  • If damage, loss or extra cleaning is required, Sunnybubs may retain part or all of the bond and invoice for any shortfall.

4. Delivery & Access

  • Sunnybubs will deliver withing 45km radius of Maroochydore - outside of this radius additional fees may apply. 

  • The Hirer must ensure clear, safe and level access for delivery, setup and collection.

  • Notify Sunnybubs in advance if there are stairs, long carries (>100m), gates or limited access.

  • Sunnybubs may charge an extra delivery fee for difficult or high-risk sites (for example long carries, many steps, shopping centre set ups).

  • Sunnybubs staff decide the safe placement of Equipment on site. If the site is unsafe, Sunnybubs may refuse to set up and retain the hire fee.

  • Please allow the agreed time for setup (usually ~1 hour) and 1–1.5 hours for pack-down and collection.

5. Use, Supervision & Safety

Safety is your responsibility — Sunnybubs provides safe, well-maintained equipment and clear instructions, but the Hirer must supervise and follow the rules.

Soft Play Rules

  • Suitable for children aged 5 and under.

  • Socks only — no shoes in the play area.

  • No food, drinks, lollies, gum, face paint, glitter, slime, confetti, bubbles or streamers.

  • No sharp objects (jewellery, keys, hair accessories).

  • No high heels on mats.

  • No rough play, pushing or climbing on walls.

  • Children must be supervised at all times by a competent adult (18+).

  • Keep a 1-metre clear zone around equipment.

General Safety & Use

  • No smoking, BBQs, open flames or lit candles near equipment.

  • No animals or pets in the play area.

  • No attachments (tape, stickers, balloons stuck to the equipment) without prior written approval.

  • Do not use equipment during setup or pack-down.

  • Do not use equipment if any part becomes wet or damaged.

  • Do not sub-hire or loan equipment to third parties.

6. Weather, Heat & Outdoor Setups

  • Sunnybubs equipment must be kept dry — it cannot be used in wet weather.

  • For hires between September and March, shaded area larger than the equipment is recommended. If adequate shade is not available you may be required to hire a marquee or Sunnybubs may refuse setup.

  • Outdoor setups should have shade in hot months to avoid overheating of materials. Sunnybubs is not liable for heat-related issues caused by lack of shade.

  • If weather conditions make the setup unsafe, Sunnybubs may cancel, reschedule or relocate the booking. Weather cancellations may result in credits to rebook subject to availability.

7. Damage, Loss & Cleaning

  • The Hirer is responsible for all loss or damage to Equipment during the Term of Hire, except fair wear and tear.

  • All equipment is cleaned between each hire using baby-safe, non-toxic disinfectants suitable for infants.

  • Damage includes stains (paint, food, drink), water damage, punctures, pet damage, burns, and malicious damage.

  • Full replacement cost will be charged for lost or irreparably damaged items. Repairs will be charged at reasonable cost.

  • Excessive cleaning required on collection will incur a $50–$100 cleaning fee.

8. Liability & Indemnity

  • All equipment is used at the Hirer’s risk.

  • To the extent permitted by law, Sunnybubs is not liable for personal injury, illness, loss or damage arising from use of the Equipment caused by the Hirer’s failure to follow instructions or supervise children.

  • The Hirer agrees to indemnify Sunnybubs against claims, costs and expenses arising from the hire and use of Equipment during the Term of Hire.

9. Inspection, Maintenance & Faults

  • The Hirer must inspect Equipment at delivery and notify Sunnybubs of any defects immediately.

  • If Equipment develops a fault during the hire, stop using it and contact Sunnybubs for instructions.

  • Sunnybubs may repair or, at its discretion, replace faulty Equipment. If replacement is not possible, a refund or credit may be issued.

10. Cancellation & Changes

  • Notify Sunnybubs at least 72hours before your event to cancel without forfeiting the deposit.

  • Cancellations within 72hours of the event forfeit the deposit. Shorter-notice cancellations may incur further fees.

  • If Sunnybubs cancels due to weather or equipment issues, we will offer a credit or reschedule where possible.

11. Bond, Fees & Extra Charges

  • Extra delivery or setup charges may apply for difficult access, stairs, long carries or special locations.

  • Sunnybubs reserves the right to retain bonds or charge for repair, replacement, extra cleaning, or additional labour if required.

12. Privacy & Photography

  • Sunnybubs may take photos of setups for marketing. We will not publish identifiable images of children without prior permission.

  • Personal information collected for bookings will be used only for contact and booking purposes and handled in line with applicable privacy law.

13. Agreement & Governing Law

  • These Terms form the entire agreement between the Hirer and Sunnybubs. By making a booking and paying a deposit you accept these Terms.

  • This Agreement is governed by the laws of Queensland and any disputes will be subject to the courts of Queensland.
